Job description

About us

At PAVE Space, we are redefining in-space logistics with autonomous and mobile spacecraft. Our first mission is a kick stage, a vehicle that improves satellite deployment by accelerating orbit raising.

As we accelerate our development, we are looking for a Turbomachinery lead to develop the first iterations of our rocket engine pump system. This person will have the responsibility to build on our team’s heritage and play a key role in the design, testing, and optimization of our propulsion system. This is an opportunity to have an impact by participating from the beginning in a big project and contributing to the design and development of a key subsystem.

Who are you?

  • You are passionate about space technology, and driven to contribute to the next generation of in-orbit mobility solutions.

  • You want to join an adventure from the beginning and contribute to its success.

  • You possess strong technical knowledge in propulsion systems, with a solid understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.

  • You have a practical mindset and you are dedicated to testing, iterating, and refining hardware in a real-world setting.

  • You are comfortable with taking ownership of key propulsion development tasks, from concept to testing.

  • You have previous experience in rocket engine turbomachinery.

  • You are able to focus on details, ensuring precision and reliability in everything you do.

  • You have experience working in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment, where agility, adaptability, and problem-solving are essential.

  • Strong English communication skills are essential.

What do we offer?

  • A unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering Swiss space-tech company and help shape its future.

  • A dynamic, fast-growing startup environment where your contributions across various company verticals have a real impact.

  • Hands-on experience with propulsion system design, testing, and integration.

  • Cross-functional exposure, working with experts in GNC, mission design, and aerospace systems.

  • Personal and professional growth opportunities in one of the most exciting domains of aerospace.

  • The rare chance to work on rocket engines while surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Switzerland.

What do we value?

  • Technical Excellence – Precision and quality are at the core of everything we do.

  • Ownership & Accountability – We take full responsibility for our work, ensuring mission success.

  • Hands-on Innovation – We move fast, test rigorously, and iterate to build the best solutions.

  • Learning & Growth – Space is hard, and we embrace the challenge by learning at every step. We give and take feedback, even if it can be hard.
